The Boozy Atlanta Book Tour: Part 2

No, I’m not done yet! It’s a new year, and I have a few more events on the calendar to promote my book before we get to that one-year mark, and I’ve mentally moved on to other projects.

Alcohol and Medicine at the Distillery of Modern Art

The lovely folks at the Distillery of Modern Art in Chamblee agreed to host me for the first night of operations in 2026 with an art gallery opening and a chat by yours truly. Given that it’s Dry January, I thought it would be fun to talk about the connections between alcohol and medicine, especially regarding Coca-Cola, which had its origins in an alcoholic beverage produced by a pharmacist. The team even made a signature cocktail, the Dr. Feelgood, incorporating spirits used in medicine.

Buckhead Nightlife at the Buckhead Heritage Foundation

Buckhead Heritage

This one has been on the calendar for so long that I had endless time to think about it. The Buckhead Heritage Foundation was wonderful to speak to, bringing out my childhood neighbors and friends. We talked about Atlanta’s origins as it related to Buckhead, which was given its name in connection with a tavern. The nightlife scene has slowed only slightly, and it was so fun to hear about places I don’t remember, like The Limelight and the Red Dog Saloon. It was also my largest audience to date!

I may do some other events here and there, but that’s a wrap for now!
